Timber Engineering

Rescued a timber engineering group which had disastrously diversified in to multi million pound joinery contracting projects. Ensured the loss making part of the Group did not pull the whole group down. Innovatively plugged a large hole in the cash flow and refocussed attention on the other niche timber businesses in the group and revitalised the strategy, sales, marketing and operational functions to re-establish profitability against an historical background of poor productivity.

Introduced more detailed costing and profitability analysis and together with careful management of the cash flow enabled the Group to progressively improve profits with the result that the Group now achieves approaching £1m annual profits.
